frequently asked questions

What's your fee?

Our fee is $129 for 45 minute and $269 for 90 minute ('2 Meetings in 1 Visit') meetings. Read more about your choices >> Counseling Services Menu

Do you take insurance?

You'll need to check with your insurance company to find out if they'll reimburse for an out-of network provider for mental health counseling. Many PPO insurance plans will reimburse for a 45 minute session. If they do reimburse and you qualify, we will provide you with a monthly statement for you to submit to them if you would like to seek reimbursement. We require payment from you at the time of service. We do not take insurance as payment or bill insurance companies in order to protect your privacy and prevent other risks to you. If you'd like to know more about the pros and cons of using health insurance to pay for counseling, please ask us.

Can I use my credit card?

Yes. We accept payment by credif card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express), debit card, or Health Savings Account (HSA) cards. We do not accept cash or checks.

How long do the meetings last?

Meetings last for 45 or 90 minutes.

How often would we meet?

We can meet weekly, every other week, once a month, or even just one time. You decide what you need.

Do we have to come to your office?

No, you don't have to our office. We can do the meetings by phone also.

What's counseling like with you?

It's like talking to a buddy in your living room. Only this buddy really knows what he's talking about and will give you advice that works. What it's not is 'touchy-feely', talking things to death, or techniques that won't work for most men. Read more about what it's like and how we're different from regular counseling >> Why Use Us?

What kind of people do you work with?

We work with all kinds of guys: business owners, teachers, executives, sales professionals, engineers, contractors, doctors, truck drivers, pilots, guys in college; guys who are 18 and 65; guys who've been married 36 years and guys dating. If you're a guy, we work with you, or if you're a woman in a relationship with a guy.

Do you work with couples?

Yes. About half the guys we work with we do so jointly with their wife, fiancee, or girl friend.

How do women feel working with you?

Most women are very comfortable working with us. Many really appreciate our direct, problem-solution focused, action oriented approach. As a result, we work with quite a few women, both individually and together with their partners.

If my partner won't come, what do I do?

Come without them. We've found that a lot of guys will come after their partner shows them how serious they are by going first. If you're a guy, it may be that she wants you to prove you're willing to go and make some changes before she'll come. Whatever your circumstance, you can do couples counseling with only one person and still change your relationship.

How long will it take to see results?

Probably not very long. We get told regularly that clients see improvement even after only one meeting.
